What we do

SAA is a student organization highly committed to continually serving as the connection between students and alumni and working to support the Oregon State University Alumni Association. SAA does this by developing and supporting an array of initiatives for both students and alumni.

These programs are designed to strengthen both student-to-student and student-to-alumni relationships. SAA members also serve as dedicated volunteers for campus events sponsored by other organizations, the OSU Alumni Association and the OSU Foundation.

Learn about the many ways SAA supports connections among students and alumni.

Summer Send-off - New Beavers come to OSU from all over. Local alumni host events to wish these new Beavers good luck as they begin their new adventure. Local SAA members help assist alumni with these events and host a “Welcome to campus” reception for send-off participants once they arrive on campus.

Dinner for 12 Beavers - This is an event implemented by SAA to provide Oregon State students, alumni, staff and faculty opportunities to meet and connect in an informal setting. OSU alumni host the dinners and help in creating a great environment for connecting Beavers and having stimulating conversations. These dinners help bring together Beavers from all across campus and the alumni community in a fun and unique way and are a terrific experience for all parties involved.

5 Under 5 - This event invites five OSU alumni who are five years out from graduation to serve on a panel to share their undergraduate experience in a specific academic area or extracurricular activity. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about life after graduation. This program gives students a glimpse of where their education at Oregon State can take them.

Senior Send-off - Senior Send-off concludes spring quarter at OSU and helps celebrate our graduating seniors. Traditionally, this event transforms the CH2M HILL Alumni Center into a fun casino atmosphere with games, food, music and door prizes. Each year, graduating seniors are invited to kick back with their class and the Alumni Association as they celebrate their time at Oregon State and prepare for life after graduation!

Homecoming Week - A way for SAA to connect students and alumni by taking part in a Beaver tradition. The week leading up to the homecoming football game is a week for students to celebrate their love and pride for Oregon State. Traditionally this week has included a homecoming parade, bonfire and much more. This year the SAA will be coordinating the inaugural Homecoming Carnival. The OSU Alumni Association will also be providing a free Homecoming Week concert!

Welcome Week Initiatives - An incredibly important time for new OSU freshman and SAA loves to help! SAA members participate in the Community Fair, provide students with snacks on their way to their first day of class and help out in a variety of other campus initiatives.
