2013 OSU Community Day of Service

OR, Bandon - Washed Ashore

Event Description - OR, Bandon - Washed Ashore

Washed Ashore
9am - 12pm

The Washed Ashore project builds large art sculptures of sea life made from plastic marine debris. The unique art pieces are part of a traveling exhibition which includes educational signage and programs that encourage reducing, refusing, reusing and recycling.

Volunteers will sort cleaned beach debris by color and assist staff to construct a sculpture of a sea creature out of the debris.  Children of all ages are welcome to attend and participate with their parents or an adult.  All materials will be provided, but to make this a better learning opportunity, feel free to comb the beach debris prior to the volunteer day and bring it with you.

Meet at the Harbortown Event Center, 325 Second St. SE, Bandon OR
