OSU Alumni Association Scholarships

The OSU Alumni Association is committed to supporting both need and merit based awards to first generation college students, legacy students, and high achievers.

AWARDS SUPPORTED BY THE OSU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND:

*OSU PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The OSU Presidential Scholarship Program is a University priority focused on recruiting top students from within the state of Oregon. These are high achieving students, with minimum 3.85 GPA's and 1300 SAT scores. Selection is made through the OSU Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships to incoming freshmen or transfer students to OSU.

*INCOMING STUDENT LEGACY AWARDS
The OSU Alumni Association Legacy Access Awards are for incoming freshmen or transfers who have a parent or guardian that is an Oregon State alumnus. Qualifications include: legacy, 3.65 GPA and 1200 SAT. This is a needs-based scholarship with a total value of $1,000 that is designed to provide access to higher education to prospective students who might not otherwise be able to afford college.

STUDENT ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AMBASSADOR AWARDS
The Student Alumni Association Council of Directors is selected by an ad-hoc committee of faculty, and students. The SAA Council is responsible for running the Oregon Stater Club student membership program for OSUAA. Talented, motivated and connected students from a variety of academic majors and interests are selected and lead the event planning, marketing and sales for the program.

NATIONAL CAPITAL AREA LEADERSHIP AWARDS
The OSU Alumni Association (OSUAA) and alumni from the D.C. area created the National Capital Leadership Award as a mechanism to assist OSU students who are eager to experience life in our Nation’s capital. The ideal student applicant will intern in a congressional or judicial office, government agency, nonprofit organization or association, or private organization in the Washington, DC, area. A $3,500 award is available for undergraduate students.
This scholarship has been awarded for the 2010 academic year. Please check back for 2011 selection details in the fall.

*OSU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION "IRONMAN" AWARD
Named in honor of the '32 OSC Football team and team member Bill Tomsheck '33, whose endowment was the impetus for this award. The Ironman awards were created to assist upper class students in extreme financial need complete their OSU education. Qualifications: Junior or senior status, minimum 3.0 GPA and extreme financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

OSU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AWARD
This is a new award, targeting nontraditional students with extreme financial need. Qualifications: EOP Participant, non-freshman status, 3.0 GPA and extreme financial need determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
