A few bowl facts:

  • This is the second time the Beavers have played in the Las Vegas bowl. The first was in 2003 vs. New Mexico. Beavers won 55-14 and Steven Jackson was the MVP.
  • BYU finished second in the Mountain West Conference with an overall record of 10-2 and 7-1 within league play.
  • This is the first time two ranked teams will meet in the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas. OSU is #16 in the AP Poll and #20 in the coaches’ poll and BYU is #15/14.
  • This is the first time BYU and OSU will face each other in a bowl game, but it marks the ninth meeting between the two programs in a series that dates back to 1955. The Beavers lead 5-3 all-time and won the most recent meeting 10-7 in Provo in 1986.
  • This will be the Beavers’ ninth bowl appearance since the 1999 O’ahu Bowl. They have a bowl record of 6-2 during that time.
  • This is the fifth consecutive time BYU is playing in the Las Vegas Bowl. They have a record of 2-2 during that stretch.
