Multi-city OSU day of service set for Saturday, May 19, 2012
Get your work gloves on and help us take the community service spirit of Beaver Nation to the streets!
Saturday, May 19 is a day for Beavers to get together and get busy helping. Alumni, students and friends of OSU will work together in more than a dozen cities during the annual OSUAA day of service. The long-term goal is to grow the event each year.
If you'd like to propose a project for your town, please let us know at Hilary.Ely@oregonstate.edu.
Here are some suggestions for a good project:
- Not likely to be cancelled due to weather
- Can be completed in three hours (work lasts from 9 a.m. - noon)
- Volunteers can see the difference their work has made
- Project is scalable for different group sizes
- Opportunities for people of varying abilities/physical conditions
- Onsite liaison to help direct team
- Project has value to community
